The answer appears, the golden letter still joins your mystery set — but the word scores nothing and the game counts as assisted.
Five words in sequence, five guesses each. Every solved word gives up one golden letter — unscramble all five into the Mystery Word.

You solve five 5-letter words, one after another, with five guesses each. After every guess the tiles tell the truth: green means right letter, right spot; gold means right letter, wrong spot; gray means the letter is not in the word.
When a word falls — solved or not — one of its letters glows gold and joins your mystery set. After all five words, those five golden letters rearrange into the Mystery Word. You get two attempts to unscramble it.
Hints (5 per game) reveal one letter of the current word in its exact position — but each hint costs one of that word's five guesses.
Each word pays by how fast you crack it: 100 on the first guess, then 80, 60, 40, 20. A hint consumes a guess, so it lowers the word's ceiling. A word you fail to solve scores zero — but its golden letter still joins the mystery set.
The Mystery Word pays +100 on the first attempt, +50 on the second. A perfect game is 600.
All five words plus the mystery on the first try with no hints earns Flawless Five. A full solve under three minutes: Lightning Lexicon. All five words and the mystery: Word Virtuoso. Every accolade lives in your trophy case.
Finish and you receive a Real World IQ score: your score performance (0–100, with a small penalty per failed word) multiplied by 2.0, plus a speed bonus of up to 20 for beating par. The maximum is 220.
A first guess like SLATE, CRANE, or ADIEU tests the letters English uses most. Two coverage guesses can corner almost any word by guess three.
A gold letter belongs in the word — try it in a new position every guess. A gray letter is dead; spending it again wastes a slot you cannot afford with only five guesses.
Your collected letters narrow the mystery word as they arrive. Three letters in, start guessing what it could be — by word five you should have a shortlist of one.
A hint on guess two still leaves a 60-point ceiling. A hint on guess four leaves 20. If a word will not break, pay for the letter while the points are still on the table.
Every answer is a familiar word. When you are stuck between a common word and an obscure one, the common word is the answer.
